Ladle drainage sand mainly includes silica sand drainage sand and chromite drainage sand. Silica sand discharge is not conducive to the free fall filling of sand particles, and the natural fluidity is poor, which is easy to cause the material to fall off; the sand discharge function of chromium ore is very good, but it pollutes the environment seriously and the cost is high.
The discharge sand produced by ceramic sand is an ideal substitute material for chromite, and its particle shape is spherical, which helps to reduce the strength of the sintered layer and is conducive to sand discharge pouring;
In addition, its proportion is relatively small; the cost is also much lower than that of chromite ore (more than 50% lower than that of chromite ore). High refractoriness: the main component of ceramic sand is alumina, its refractoriness is greater than or equal to 1790 ℃.
At a certain temperature of molten steel, the thickness of the sintered layer can be reduced without excessive sintering. Because the ceramic sand is round, there is a little contact between the particles of the sintered layer, which can effectively reduce the strength of the sintered layer and make the drainage sand use open pouring.
When using, it should be noted that the added drainage agent should be piled into small packages, and the bottom of the package should be aligned with the ladle outlet. Prevent the flow of molten steel from directly impacting the ladle and affecting the free flow.
